Committee Assignments

Committee on Foreign Relations
The Senate Foreign Relations Committee develops and oversees U.S. foreign policy, including oversight of the Department of State, processing treaties, and considering nominees for diplomatic posts. As a senior member of the committee, Senator McCormick works to promote strong U.S. foreign policy that advances American interests, supports our allies and partners, and protects Pennsylvania and the nation from overseas threats to our economy and society.

Additionally, Senator McCormick chairs the Foreign Relations Subcommittee on the Near East, South Asia, Central Asia, and Counterterrorism, which provides him with the opportunity to strengthen the U.S.-Israel alliance, expand the Abraham Accords, grow U.S.-India cooperation, and delve deeply into regional energy, economic, and security issues.

Committee on Energy and Natural Resources
The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee is responsible for U.S. energy policy, National Parks and other outdoor recreation resources, federal public lands, and natural resources. Senator McCormick works with his colleagues on the Committee to unleash American energy dominance, conserve our nation’s bountiful natural resources for future generations, and make Pennsylvania the center of American energy production and innovation.

Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Development
The Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Development Committee oversees legislation and federal agencies related to banking, financial markets, housing, and some aspects of international economic policy. As a member of the Committee, Senator McCormick is focused on expanding access to capital for Pennsylvania small businesses, making housing more affordable, and protecting Pennsylvania workers from the predatory economic practices of the Chinese Communist Party and other foreign competitors.

Special Committee on Aging
The Aging Committee works to shape federal policies and programs that affect older Americans. Pennsylvania has the fifth largest population over 65 in the country. Serving on the Aging Committee provides Senator McCormick with a forum to advocate on behalf of millions of Pennsylvania seniors like his parents.

Joint Economic Committee
The Joint Economic Committee (JEC) brings together members of the Senate and House of Representatives to review the condition of the U.S. economy and make recommendations for economic policy. Membership on the JEC allows Senator McCormick to evaluate the economic challenges facing Pennsylvanians and recommend policies that will lower costs and increase economic opportunities for working families.
