Senator McCormick Announces PA Senior Leadership Team 

February 13, 2025, Harrisburg, PA – Senator Dave McCormick (R-Pennsylvania) announced the hires of additional members of his in-state senior leadership team, which stands prepared to serve the residents of Pennsylvania. 

“I’m excited about the great team we’re building in Pennsylvania,” said McCormick. “I was elected to serve every Pennsylvanian, and the quality of staff we’ve hired shows my commitment to the Commonwealth. I know this team will do outstanding work to help all Pennsylvanians  navigate the federal government and put our constituents first.” 

In addition to hiring an experienced Pennsylvania-based team, McCormick has opened seven regional offices across the state to serve constituents. The names and backgrounds for each member of the Pennsylvania senior leadership team can be found below: 

Ryan P. Aument State Director 

Ryan Aument served Lancaster County in the Pennsylvania General Assembly, first as a State Representative and later as a Senator, from 2010 to 2024. A graduate of the Citadel and decorated veteran, Ryan served as a Captain in the U.S. Army and was deployed during Operation Iraqi Freedom. An eighth generation Southcentral Pennsylvanian, Ryan has dedicated his career to public service and has spent the last 20 years serving his fellow Pennsylvanians in various roles to ensure the Commonwealth is a great place to live, work, and raise a family. 

Anna Romeo Deputy State Director for Constituent Services, Outreach and Coalitions 

Born and raised in Montgomery County, Anna Romeo joins the McCormick office after serving nearly 12 years in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C. Most recently she served as Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor to Congressman Dave Joyce from Northeast Ohio. Prior to her work for Congressman Joyce, she served on the staff of former Congressman Bill Shuster of Bedford County, Pennsylvania. She also worked as a Political Advisor on three Congressional campaigns.  

Stephanie Applegate Press Secretary, PA 

Born and raised in Dauphin County, Stephanie Applegate graduated from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania in 2017 and has spent her entire career since then in public service. Stephanie worked for the Senate of Pennsylvania for eight years, beginning her career as a Legislative Assistant and working up to Communications Director for the PA Senate Majority Whip. During that time, she helped manage the crisis communications on behalf of the Senate Republican Caucus as they conducted the 2020 election audit.  

Logan Hoover South Central PA Regional Manager 

An eleventh generation Pennsylvanian, Logan Hoover has held various roles in public service in both state and federal government, including in the Pennsylvania Senate Majority Whip’s Office and as a Staff Assistant in the U.S. House of Representatives. Drawing from his extensive background in legislative affairs and constituent services, Logan will continue working to connect constituents with federal resources and ensuring their voices are heard through his new role in Sen. McCormick’s Harrisburg office. 

Sam DeMarco Southwestern PA Regional Director 

Sam DeMarco is a Marine Corps veteran and former technology sales executive. He currently serves as both the Allegheny County Councilman At-Large and Chairman of the Republican Committee of Allegheny County, where he has been elected three times to each position. Sam was selected for and is a graduate of both Leadership Pittsburgh and the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania’s Center for Excellence in County Leadership programs. His expertise was a key factor in helping county government better serve the residents of Allegheny County through promoting more efficient, more responsive, and more cost-effective government. 

Sheila Sterrett Northwestern PA Regional Director 

Sheila Fitzgerald Sterrett has served as the Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Senate Majority Policy Committee since 2023. Prior to that role, she spent more than a decade as the Northwestern PA Regional Manager for U.S. Senator Pat Toomey, where she gained more than enough experience to hit the ground running and oversee that same region on behalf of Sen. McCormick. Sheila also served as the Director of Government Affairs for the Manufacturer’s and Business Association from 1999 to 2011.   

Chris QuinnSoutheastern PA Regional Director 

Chris Quinn served as a State Representative in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2016 to 2022, representing the 168th Legislative District in the southeast corner of the Commonwealth. Prior to that, he founded a successful insurance agency while remaining actively involved in his local community, including serving on the Middletown Township Council from 2008-2016 where he spearheaded initiatives such as establishing local parks and the Middletown Historical Society. Chris currently serves on the board of Lifetime Well International, which provides safe drinking water to communities in Africa. 

Nathan J. Gerace – Northeastern PA Regional Director

Nathan previously served as the District Director for Congressman Dan Meuser of Pennsylvania’s 9th Congressional District, where he managed operations across 12 counties in Northeast Pennsylvania. In addition to his tenure of over six years with Congressman Meuser, Nathan is serving in his eighth year and second term as Mayor of Tamaqua, having made history as the youngest mayor ever elected in Tamaqua’s history, and one of the youngest mayors in Pennsylvania. With a strong commitment to public service and constituent outreach, Nathan remains devoted to advancing the interests of all Pennsylvanians. 

Juliet Harshbarger North Central PA Regional Manager

Raised in the Lehigh Valley on her family’s third-generation farm, Juliet Harshbarger moved to Western Pennsylvania where she received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Grove City College. She began her career in public service in Washington, D.C., working for Congressman Mike Kelly (PA-16) before returning to Pennsylvania to work for the Senate of Pennsylvania. She has served in the office of the President Pro Tempore and, most recently, as the Centre County office manager for State Senator Wayne Langerholc, Pennsylvania Senate Majority Whip. In this role, she successfully established a new district office following state redistricting, expanding constituent services and outreach in the region.
