March 4, 2025, Washington, D.C. — Senator Dave McCormick (R-Pennsylvania) announced today that he will bring Blair County Sheriff Jim Ott as his guest for President Trump’s first Joint Session of Congress since his return to the White House.

“Sheriff Ott has dedicated his life to protecting the residents of Blair County, Pennsylvania. He has been an outspoken advocate for addressing the fentanyl crisis and securing the U.S. border to protect our communities,” said McCormick. “These issues, which are priorities for me and President Trump, are critical to securing a brighter future for American families and all Pennsylvanians.”

In 2020, Sheriff Ott tragically lost his 33-year-old son to fentanyl. In an effort to raise awareness, Sheriff Ott has spoken out about his story and the horrific impacts of fentanyl, which has been illegally smuggled across our borders due to the weak border policies of the Biden Administration. Sheriff Ott supports Senator McCormick and President Trump’s commitment to closing the U.S. borders and taking bold action to put an end to this fentanyl crisis.
